FAQ

Do I need to buy tickets in advance, or can I buy them on the door?

Our events are likely to sell out, it is essential to purchase a ticket online. If an event is sold out, it's worth checking on the day as sometimes we release the final few tickets the morning of the event.

Can I book a seat?

All seating is unallocated and based on a first come first serve basis. As shows get filled up quickly, we cannot guarantee you sitting with your party. To try and avoid this we recommend arriving for when doors open.

Do I need to print my ticket?

No. Give us your name at the door and we'll check you in.

Is there an age limit?

We cannot allow under 18s into shows held at the Micklegate Social due to licensing laws. For events at other venues, under 18s are allowed with parental supervision. If you are unsure whether the event would be suitable, email us at info@thehermitcomedy.com

Do you allow latecomers?

Latecomers are permitted, but will be held at the door until a convenient time to let them in to avoid disruption.

Is the venue accessible?

The Den does not have step-free access, requiring to go down a set of stairs with banister to enter the space. There are accessible toilets on the ground floor level bar area.

Do you offer refunds on tickets?

Tickets may be refunded at The Hermit's discretion if requested ahead of time via the email info@thehermitcomedy.com We do not offer refunds for line-up changes. You are purchasing a ticket for the event, rather than for a specific act. Tickets won't be refunded during or after the event has finished.

Is there parking nearby?

The closest car park is the Nunnery Lane Car Park, a 4-minute walk away from Micklegate Social. The car park is run by the council and offers paid parking.
