About

What happens when two former Presidents of the University of York Comedy Society are let loose in the city? Well… this!

The Hermit Comedy is a grassroots comedy project founded in 2026 with the aim of bringing top-notch, diverse lineups to develop York’s expanding live comedy scene. To help us with our mission, we have teamed up with the legendary Micklegate Social to host our shows on Friday evenings.

Hosted by resident MC James Perham (Chortle Student Comedy Awards finalist 2026) and resident tech Kiri Cheesman, self-proclaimed GOAT (greatest of all tech), these co-founding hermits are ready for some comedy. Are you?
